中国社会焦点记者了解到，这两天，阜阳界首“玉米阿姨”刘玉荣勇救落海女生的事迹感动全网，这份源于本能的善良迅速引发社会强烈反响。
2025年7月9日，界首市委宣传部有关负责人专程赶赴山东青岛市，看望慰问刘玉荣，为她送去鲜花和慰问金，向这位平凡英雄致以家乡人民的崇高敬意。
2025年7月10日，刘玉荣被青岛市市南区区委政法委、青岛市市南区见义勇为协会评为“见义勇为积极分子”，有关部门现场进行了颁奖。
时间回到2025年7月7日中午，当时，一名来自河北的年轻女游客在青岛栈桥李慰农公园附近海域游玩时不慎坠海，一个大浪将她卷离岸边、带向深水区，女子在海浪中奋力挣扎、命悬一线。
在附近售卖玉米和冷饮的刘玉荣发现险情后，来不及摘掉遮阳帽，迅速翻过护栏，找准时机纵身一跃扑入海中，借助游泳圈将落水女孩救起，全程不到1分钟时间。
今年57岁的刘玉荣是界首市东城街道居民，现定居青岛市。这两天，她在青岛跳海救人的事迹引发广泛关注，因平时在海边摆摊卖玉米等，刘玉荣被网民亲切地称为“玉米阿姨”。界首市委宣传部负责同志在看望慰问刘玉荣时，发现她的左膝周边有多处擦伤，这是她在跳海救人时被岩石刮擦的。据附近居民介绍，刘玉荣把女孩救上岸后，女孩拿出500元现金表示感谢，被刘玉荣婉拒。
